LASIK - carrying kids and blurriness

Has anyone had LASIK laser eye surgery? How long until you could see? I need to do a four hour drive nine days post surgery. before the surgery they said that would be absolutely fine but right now there's no way I could drive a car.

I had it four days ago and it was so much more horrendous than I thought it would be. They seriously downplay it. For about 5-6 hours afterwards, it felt like someone was torturing my face. My vision is still pretty blurry and my eyes are really gritty. I have been told they are still quite inflamed and have to do the steroids every hour.

Also, it's crazy they didn't tell me before surgery that you can't lift for a week, so I cannot carry my kids! My husband had to take Friday off work.

Just wondering what other peoples experiences were and when it gets better? Also, how long for those massive red marks to fade, I have huge ones in both eyes.

Also, did anyone get aches in their eye? My right eye is pretty achy. I kind of just want to know that someone else had this where they had inflammation afterwards and that it will turned out okay?

Sorry to say my eyes were absolutely fine the next day.. up to driving standard when I had the check up the day after.
Whole thing was painless.

It sounds like you've not had a normal outcome.

Mine were fine visionwise after 24hrs. Although big red marks on the eye that lasted a couple of weeks.

I would describe the whole experience as mildly uncomfortable but pretty sure I just took one lot of paracetamol and didn't even bother with more as it was really not painful.
