Thoughts on using sustainable buttons in ethical fashion?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been exploring small changes in design that could improve sustainability, and buttons seem like a detail that could matter more than we think. I’m considering corozo, recycled plastics, horn, and other natural-button alternatives as replacements for regular plastic.

Has anyone tried using sustainable buttons in their designs? How have they affected cost, durability or aesthetics? Do you feel customers notice or value those details?

Indian buttons are made from plastic and natural shells found in India, valued for their unique look and smooth textures.

I just use recycled buttons for most of my sewing. Ones I or my mother or grandmother/great aunt saved in a big tin. Advantage is most can be washed in a machine.
