I would wait until it goes hard then pick it out. Don't try and rub it wet, it will spread.

When DD2 coloured the carpet with my nail varnish I managed to scrape some off when it was dry. I trimmed the carpet with scissors to get the rest off. The carpet looked a bit bald though so I put a little rug along that bit of floor. We laugh about it now, 8 years later. I wasn't laughing at the time of course!

er... nail varnish remover?

VoluptuaGoodshag · 02/06/2008 13:14

Darn with I'd read this thread before. Don't put nail varnish remover on it whatever you do, I now have a fetching lilac patch on my beige carpet and I don't think I'll ever get it out now

This happened to us earlier in the year, brand new house, brand new creamy carpet, 12 yr old daughter, red nail varnish. All the advice I had said - you can't get it out at all. We had to replace the whole carpet , luckily we were insured!!

Sorry mankymummy . Needless to say I'm crap at housekeeping too and learned the hard way.
