Addenbrookes hospital things to do nearby

Hi does anyone here know cambridge and the area around addenbrookes hospital? I have an appointment there next month for a scan it will take about 1 hour, my husband is taking me and will have our 3 year old with him just wondering if there is anywhere nearby he can go with our little boy for an hour whilst he waits a local park or something

The biomedical campus that is joined to Addenbrookes has quite a lot of green spaces that you can wander/sit in. Stir Cafe on the biomedical campus is nice for drinks/food - much nicer than the options in the main hospital!

There's also gardens by the new papworth hospital too I think (next to Addenbrookes). If it is just for an hour i'd hang around the hospital campus, the traffic is mad busy in that area so not really worth driving off somewhere to come back!

There is nightingale recreation ground that has a decent playground at the far end just across the main road. It's on nightingale road.

If he can get the bus into town then the museum of zoology is a winner! bus in will only take 15 mins max I reckon and from addies you could get off at John Lewis and be 2 mins away from the museum https://www.museum.zoo.cam.ac.uk

they could walk over the guided busway bridge that crosses the railway from the edge of the addenbrooke's site, and then there is a nature reserve, and a large area with a playground for younger children (behind the skate park and areas for older children). It's very near a local Sainsbury's and Nisa shops for drinks or snacks, too. It would be a good walk/play/snack for an hour and then come back.

ETA: apparently it's called Hobson's Brook play area
