Non Toxic Athlete’s Foot Treatment

Does anyone know of a way to kill athlete’s foot fungus in shoes without using a chemical-ridden spray that will end up in the atmosphere around my children?

I am a mum of 1 year old twins and have been suffering with recurrent athlete’s foot infections for months now. I am desperate to get this finally resolved as the symptoms are miserable and I don’t want to pass it on to the rest of my family. I know that for a complete treatment I need to treat my shoes and socks too but for those shoes that aren’t machine washable, what are my options? I really don’t want to use an over-the-counter spray or powder that will inevitably come into contact with my children (they are all over my feet and shoes at this stage). Tea tree oil would have been my preferred option if there was only me to consider but I have read that it can be harmful to young children so don’t want to risk that.

Any ideas welcomed - TIA xxx

I soak my feet in 1 part apple cider vinegar to 2 parts water for 20 mins. Dry completely and use daktarin. I don't have young children climbing all over me, but I am busy so tend to do this before bed.
