What's the going rate for the tooth fairy?

Ds1 (6) is about to lose his first tooth and he's making suggestions as to what he thinks he might get. His best friend got 70p apparently but he has suggested that he might get £100! What do you do? Or did you get out of the money thing all together - I never mentioned it to him, but his school friends seem to have set us up!

am i the only tight one here?! its 20p! & the tooth fairy needs the tooth leaving where she can see it..not under the pillow!

Last time the tooth fairy came to us, she couldn't find the tooth under the pillow and left nothing She had only visited the night before though (for a brother's tooth) so ds decided she didn't come on consecutive nights. Accordingly, he kept calm and left the tooth somewhere more accessible the next night, and luckily, the tooth fairy made it that time.
