Four deaths/ suicide ?in Whitby in 2 days.

I love Whitby and visit often.. was on the big tourist wheel they have at the moment last Sunday.. but this week there has been four deaths.. an elderly woman "fell"to her death from the cliff top... l say fell.. it's still under investigation.
A young couple jumped to their deaths from the cliff top.. and a mile down at Sandsend a body has been found. All this happened over just 3 days .. so so sad for all concerned.. family and friends... im just wondering why Whitby? I can't get my head around it. 😪

If you are determined then jumping off a big cliff is a guarantee.
Beachy Head in South England has its own priest there as there have been so many jumpers.

Yes they do... im thinking Whitby will be needing one soon.

What makes you think that.. l lost a wonderful man to suicide... didn't make me want to follow suit.

Yes it is a well documented fact, and the Samaritans have issued guidelines on reporting about it. Mumsnet also have guidelines about it.

I think lots of people are depressed, have mental health issues, have physical health issues that they struggle with. I don’t think that if you are in a good place mentally it’s contagious but if you are considering suicide then it could stiffen your resolve.

I grew up in the North East of England and often visited Whitby. I absolutely loved the place. Even in my early twenties my bf at the time and I used to drive over the moors regularly to visit a lovely pub there.
It's not a place I associate with tragedy but I do feel these days tragedy is all around us.
