OK this is a little locking the stable door after the horse etc but is it ok to feed an 8 month old tuna sandwiches? or is there a problem with tuna and babies

I hope not because i always gave tuna to dd. I take it you mean tinned? if so i used to buy the tuna in spring water, cos i think this is healthier.

I would have thought it's better not to feed her nothing but tuna, as she'll overload on toxic mercury, but given the eating habits of the average second babe (DD2 was snarfing down lemon cake made with ground almonds at that age) I'd say it's pretty OK, really.

But what do I know. DD2 is never happier than when she's snacking out of the compost bin. Or, of course, eating crisps.

Oh yes, brine not a good idea.

DD2 is a definite snarfer.

it was the tuna in sunflower oil .. there was some of DS's left over (little bit of pastuerised mayonnaise) .. she looked shocked .. then grinned .. then stank of fish for the rest of the day

Its a bit salty (and the tuna in spring water and veg oil often has not much less salt than the one in brine) but a little ever now and then is fine.

Ds (11 months) loves a tuna sandwich

I used to give mine tuna sandwiches and other tuna foodstuffs so I hope so!

If you can get her onto tinned pink salmon, you can feel all smug about her eating oily fish too.
