7 year old has a strong American accent. Everyone comments on it. I feel it is due to watching too much YouTube during Covid as I was out working during the day as a key worker and my husband was trying to work from home. Unsure how to change it at this stage. Unsure how concerned to be. I worry she will be bullied about this. Also aware it is an indicator of ASD, she is a very picky eater but other than that she a very easy going child so not sure if this is a possibility. Her sister is on a waiting list for ADHD assessment so there is possible neuro diversity in the family. Any speech and language therapists or anyone have any advice? Anyone's child had a strong accent and grew out of it?

It is driving me crazy!

COVID was 5 years ago when she was only 2. Does she still watch hours of you tube every day? Can that really be the cause of it? That seems unlikely.

When I am home I would say no, but she definitely does when she is at grandparents house. I know I first noticed her accent during COVID and it has just stuck from then so I'm not sure.
