Should I change my hotel booking to a single room ??

My friend is getting married in a hotel in August.

I am staying at her house the night before, as am bridesmaid, and then to treat myself, I decided to stay at the hotel on the night of the wedding, as neary all of the other guests are. The hotel is actually only a mile from me, but I wanted to be able to get drunk and crawl to bed.

Now originally I booked a double room, and am quite embarassed to admit that I did this because I thought/hoped/prayed, that i'd not be single by then, but I am.

So, shall I change it to a single ? The price difference is £43.

Depends. Are there likely to be any nice, single men at the wedding?

singyswife · 26/05/2008 21:04

I wouldnt unless money is an issue. Bigger bed to sprawl in when you are drunk and you might still get lucky before then,

PuppyDogTails · 26/05/2008 21:04

Nooooo. A double bed is so much nicer to fall into after a heavy night. And you never know...

CrackerOfNuts · 26/05/2008 21:06

Well money is always an issue, as I am a single mum, but I have budgetted for the price of the double room.

Believe it or not, there are no single men going, apart from my dad, and the brides grandfather.

i agree bigger bed to crash in after a heavy night, and you might get lucky so it might come in handy

CrackerOfNuts · 26/05/2008 21:09

Tbh the thought of changing it only crossed my mind, because the bride got the room conformation list through, and rang to check that mine was right because in her words 'you don't need a double though do you, there is only you'.

Just tell her you like lots of space and wouldnt want to ruin her wedding night by falling out of bed and breaking something.

CrackerOfNuts · 26/05/2008 21:12

Suppose more room is better when slightly tipsy

Like a bit of a dirty-stop-out I reccommend that you keep the double - you might end up with some attractive company ( I think theres a statistic about relationships that start at weddings, especially for bridesmaids but don't have any facts!) - if no one takes your fancy you've got a massive luxurious bed to enjoy at will - win-win situation!

PuppyDogTails · 26/05/2008 21:16

There's always the barmen

CrackerOfNuts · 26/05/2008 21:17

Had forgotten about the barmen.

Will keep double room then

Thankfully, all of the other bridesmaids are attatched, so no competition either ....yay LOL.

If you have a double room, and are counting on pulling/meeting someone before then, it won't happen.

But if you have a single room, you will have plenty of offers, iyswim. Sod's law and all that.

bluewolf · 26/05/2008 21:25

NQC you are right...perhaps, but double room much better to have tantrum in and double free shower cap etc

CrackerOfNuts · 26/05/2008 21:25

Tbh NQC, I don't want to pull anyone anyway anymore, so will just have the big bed all to myself

I did not know they did singles any more!!!!
I always get a double even if on my own. I had to stay in a single bed on training a few weeks ago as I had a twin room, I kept thinking I was going to fall out!

If you have budgeted for the room already, then treat yourself, as you said in you OP.
