We've got 2 holidays booked this year and each of them are costing less than a grand.

We're going to the south of france to stay in a villa - flights and villa rental have come to about £900

We're also going for a weeks camping in cornwall in august, which will cost us about £500 in total.

windygalestoday · 22/05/2008 09:03

great yarmouth in July!!!

ChopsTheDuck · 22/05/2008 09:05

how many kids? We're doing a fortnight in spain for jsut under £1500 - that includes villa, flights, and car rental. We have four kids - you could do that for under £1000 if you have less children.

We have just come back from Majorca.

£750 for 3 adults and 3 infants and 1 child.
That includes flights, transfers and 3 bed self catering apartment with pools.

ChopsTheDuck · 22/05/2008 09:13

need to watch the flights on kayak untila bargain comes up, and be prepared to fly at the crack of dawn or do a stopover. We get the villa from villa renters, and shop around for car hire. Villas in spain are very cheap and the flights came in at £550 for 6 of us.

It'll be the 4th year running we've done that, we love the area - it doesn't have to be like benidorm. We do things like visiting historical sites, and go round vineyards drinking buying nice wines.

katz · 22/05/2008 20:42

Fillyjonk · 22/05/2008 20:44

oh have never spent more than about £500 on holidays with kids

camping (obv)
cottage somewhere like tenby
center parcs out of season (oddly fun in a nordic way)

Fillyjonk · 22/05/2008 20:46

btw katz can you do czech reb on £1000k?

Am thinking flights would be about £600-£800?

(I ask because i liked iy very much when there, back in days when i did 6 weeks interailing for about £1k total )

katz · 22/05/2008 20:53

we're flying to praque for about £450 for 7 of us!

katz · 22/05/2008 20:55

we've hired an apt in praque for 3 nights and a house for a week about an hour away for around £1000 but thats for 2 family's, so £500 for a family of 4.

WendyWeber · 22/05/2008 20:57

We're going to Eire the last week of August - cottage (4 of us going, but it's for 6-8) £360, ferry (Cairnryan-Larne) £62.50 in Tesco Clubcard vouchers plus £40 on top - c£500 inc insurance .

llareggub · 22/05/2008 20:57

We're going to Bosinver Farm, which was under £550 for a week at the end of July. We've had a week in Devon for £100 (bargain!) and will do a weekend away in September. All for under £1000.

Fillyjonk · 22/05/2008 20:58

am impressed katz!

katz · 22/05/2008 21:03

we chose it because its still cheap and looks beautiful.

The house we went for was expensive! we have an indoor heated pool for the week and it would sleep 12 if needed, it also has its own lake and boat.

bogie · 22/05/2008 21:05

bulgaria is soooooo cheap my mum has an apartment over there and you can eat out every night for about £5 including your drinks.

WingsofaAngel · 22/05/2008 21:09

We have a tourer and are taking it to devon £265 for 4 adults and 2 children for a week.

Pinions · 26/05/2008 13:33

Have just been to Tunisia for about £850 and that was 2 adults, one child and one infant, al inclusive. Going to Turkey in Aug for about a grand as well

Aero · 26/05/2008 13:44

We have booked a fortnight in a gite in Normandy for £560 in August. Travel cost £150 for eurotunnel plus whatever petrol we'll need. Took a lot of internet trawling to find it, but we are on a tight budget and bargains can be found. Just over £700 for two week family holiday for five can't be bad!
