How do i stop shouting at my 3 year old son

All i seem to do is shout at my 3 year old. I start every day with the intention of not shouting, but after a while i start again. If i take my eye off him for a second he is doing something naughty ie putting something in the video etc. I feel like an awful mum for shouting all the time. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am have gone 5 whole days now not shouting (bit a miracle) my ds does not know how to respond to me and keeps throwing these big dramatics I suppose to try and get the usual response (yelling) I just hope I can maintain this over the weekend as its a lot easier during week when he is at school and I am at work!!! Wish me luck

well done for going 5 days without shouting, i too have gone a few days and the results are amazing, he keeps coming up to me and saying 'alright mummy, and then kissing me', which gives me a nice warm feeling. Saying that he does try my patience by throwning tantrums too, today was a classic, he threw his drink on the floor and screamed for 10 minutes because i didn't put it in the cup he wanted, why is it that kids expect you to be a mind-reader. I must admit because using this site, i would of ranted and raved 'look at what you've done', but at the moment i have inner calm.
