Group 1 seat in front of car?

Ds (13months) has a maxi cosi group 1 car seat Its normally in the back of the car but we are due to be going a long journey in a few weeks.

I was wondering if it would be ok to put it in the front of the car, so that I can chat to him a bit and hopefully he wont get as ratty. Only problem is we cant turn the airbag off.

Any thoughts?

Don't do it if you can't turn the airbag off. Better a ratty child than a dead one.

As far as I'm aware, any car seat in the front of a car with an airbag is considered dangerous. I just wouldn't risk it I'm afraid. Better a grumpy child than a child with a smashed in face. (or worse )

I hope your journey turns out ok, how far will it be? what time of day?

message received and understood. . I wasnt sure whether it was just the rear facing car seats that you couldnt use with air bags. Will keep him in the back, will hunt out a supply of nursery song cd's and rice cakes to keep him quiet entertained.
