I'd like to get little presents for all the many people who have gone out of their way to help us while I've been out of action - mainly fetching and carrying my dc to and from places way beyond the call of duty.

Flowers are nice, but impractical as I have to be able to pass them on via the schools/dcs. Do most people like choccies? And if so how smart should I go? I need to thank at least half a dozen people, and want the present to be nice without being inappropriately expensive or grand. Or possibly bath oil (given that it's mainly mummies I'm thanking). But not all of them are seriously yummy mummies.

What would you like to be given as a thank you present by someone you didn't know that well if you'd eg. made a detour 3 days a week for a month to drop their child off at home?

Well my first thought was "bottle of wine", to give you an idea of my priorities, though the clanking in dc's schoolbags may not be appreciated ...

I've done the bottle and/or flowers when thanking, for being thanked I've had the same, and large box posh biscs, chocs.

Only thing with food is whether there are particular allergies or dislikes I suppose.

Any other thoughts?

i would like chocolates please

or biscuits except i wouldnt eat those myself

iu think it is the gesture that counts so something pretty but not huge

i would actually like herb tea and nice cheese but a bit impractical

Wine for me I guess

Wouldn't really like bath oils etc, I know I'm a bit fussy

Scented candle ?

Just a handwritten note maybe ..it shows you've taken the time ..and how you have appreciated it.

thorntons do nice little boxes of chocs - quite small and you can have them wrapped. or make up your own mixture and get it wrapped.

i love geting presents but it is less what it is than if it looks nice to me..thornton chocs would be fine..
