Employment and main duty

Hi guys wondered if I could get an advice. Im currently in emergency accommodation after getting a main duty, been at the hotel for a few months. I work full time and my earnings are about 2K a month. When I was put in a hotel and applied for HB I informed them that Im not planning to stay in this job due to not getting along with a manager, toxic culture etc. This job affects me a lot since i have mental health too.
Im still in that job, looking for another one, was also told theres a new manager coming so just thinking about my options etc.
I was hoping to hear back from the income officer at the council because im aware i might not qualify for HB since I work full time so i think ive got some arrears. I pay the service charge though
Anyway, my main question - i was shortlisted for a property recently and just wondered if they do an affordability assessment and they see i work full time, won’t they say well since i work I won’t qualify for a property or something like that?
Im aware that people can work full time etc and still bid but since im on a higher band i wonder if me being in employment will affect my banding and eligibility for a property?
Hope this make sense & thanks for any comments

If you quit the job it will be looked upon very dimly in any benefit applications.

They do an affordability assessment yes but working will be considered a plus. I work full time and when they did the assessment they explained that it was to make sure I could afford the property, which I couldn't have if I had been living on benefits.

As the pp said, making no effort to support yourself will be looked upon much more dimly.

Working will be a positive in terms of nomination for a property. They are looking at affordability.

Would this affect my banding (im band 2-high needs)? Wont they say ‘well if you are employed full time why don’t you just go private rent?’ Thats my worry. Thanks

If you have successfully applied via your councils housing register they can’t discriminate if you are working.

However your homelessness housing officer will encourage you to look at all housing options including private.

You need to chase the income officer to find out the shortfall in housing benefit as you almost certainly will have to make a contribution towards the temp accommodation. You don’t say whether you have children or not. Any other benefits?

yeah there are arrears as I was waiting for my housing benefit but never got a letter to say if i was awarded or not. I get pip no other benefits. No kids
anyone else was placed in a temp accommodation and was shortlisted while on full time income?

You really need to take control and ring housing benefits yourself tomorrow. Find out what your award is.
