i think i have it right and you work for a HA

we live in a end house(detatched) there is a slope next to our house and a fence and then a kind side return that leads to no where(dead end)
the fence is broken and a safety issue(kids play on it) and the side return if full of crap.
I have reported it to HA as it is not our garden or our fence.
can you give me suggestions of the kind of safety issues I can throw at them.
I can't(won't) clean it up as it get used as a toilet and god knows what is in there.
TIA

Ring building control at the local council - they will come and inspect and decide whether it is dangerous and then will make owner take it down.

Our neighbour is due to get a letter in the morning demanding that he take his wall down in the next 7 days or the matter will go before a magistrate - better that than it fall on one of us though!!

Tortington · 14/05/2008 16:04

the housing officer can find out from the council who owns it.

if not ask the council how you find out who owns it.

you can also threated your HA with a formal complaint ( nothingbeing done, no resolution etc)

someone will move their arse. befre it gets kicked
upshot is

who ever owns it pays for it to be fixed - so you eed to know

you are in effect dealing with poeple who have a million and other things to do - like evict people or sort ou support for peoeple who have mental health needs or drug/alcohol abuse- or sort ou the million and one anti social behaviour stuff that comes ther way when there is a bit of sunshine

you have to do the work. you ring, ask who you are speaking toask when they will get back to you

you ring again you say i spoke to xxxx they said tey would ring me back xxxx. they didn't i want to speak to the manager - who am i speaking to now?

you ring ack i phoned on xxxx i spoke to xxx who didn't ring back. i phoned again on xxxx and told them that i phoned before and spoke to another lady called xxxx - with whom and i speaking now?

right now ihave been passed on to 3 different people non of whom are ringing me back or giving me an answer i would like to ake a formal complaint about they way in which you deal with customer enquiries - please can i have a dormal complaints form - can i also have your compensation policy as some organisations pay you if they dont phone you back or write back to you withi certain timelines - but the complaints process and the compensation process may not be the same thing.

whilst you are doing this with your HA, you need to phone the council and ask them how you find out who the fence belongs to ( land registry) and ge them to e-mail you -s o you have awritten copy of who owns the fence.

you may hav to bager them as above and seperatley threaten them with the complaints and compensation policy.

then there is always the Brighton Argus. tey love stories like this. especially if you can be photographed with your kids saying how dangerous it is

also contact your local councilor and ask him to send a letter - that usually shoots a rocket up someones arse.

butor gods sake dont wait for them to ring you abot a fence becuse whils its important to you - is probably way down the listof their priorities - so whilst you want itsrting pronto - they have other things to do

phone HA
and again
and again asking for compensation and complaints policy
ringland registry
and gain
and again asking for compensationa dn complaints polcy
simultaniouslyring the Brighton Srgus - get in thepaper
and write to your councillor - (e-mail)
