I was quite shocked to hear that 4 children in my friend's daughter's class (they're all 7) have mobile phones. Do your children have one and what age do you think it is reasonable to have one?

not seven but no way are either of them getting one when they are seven.. not sure when they will get one - perhaps when they get to high school or later. As Tinker said - offical studies have shown that it is not safe for young children to be talking on or using mobile phones due to the amount of electro-magnetic radiation emissions they give out can be very damaging to children esp those under 8 as their brains are still developing.

although can understand jj from safety point of view - why you would do that.
