I forgot to watch it on Boxing Day and taped the wrong channel last night so missed the repeat and I think it was the final episode and can't wait until C4 get it! Can anyone help? Thanks!

God I hope it wasn't the final episode.... it has just gone up another gear, as if that was possible. Didn't tape it though, so sorry can't help. Surely the most addictive programme on TV at present? Happy Christmas/New Year Fionn by the way!

willow2 - thanks, same to you! I'll email you about meeting up (with children?) soon.

That would be good - let's take them somewhere they can run riot? Maybe that Hounslow gym place you told me about as haven't made it there yet.

Just thought you might like to know the Boxing Day episode wasn't the last one, apparently there are 3 more left. Don't know what I'll do when the series ends, I absolutely LOVE it!! Same goes for Six Feet Under, did anyone watch that?

Fionn · 01/01/2003 17:15

Nutjob - very relieved to hear it wasn't the last one! Did you watch it? Could you tell me what happened? I agree it's a fantastic programme. Never watched Six Feet Under.

It was mostly about Christopher and his drug problem. Whilst high on heroin he sat on Adrianna's little dog and killed him, then when she confronts him about it he gives her a black eye. She then goes to Tony and Carmella and they decide to confront him about his problems. In the end Tony forces him to check into rehab. He's really stressed about it as Christopher was in line to take over from him eventually.

Tony is also making out that it was Johnny Sack and the New York mob who killed Ralphie to Paulie, Silvio and the rest.

Oh yeah, and Carmella and Furio are on the verge of an affair.

Think that was all!!!!

Ah! I lurve the Sopranos....the writing and the acting is superb. I admire all the actors, and I think Drea di Matteo who plays Adriana is especially strong this season - she's had some good stories. She is in such a difficult situation, poor, silly creature. Am enjoying this season more than ever!! Roll on series 5!

But the best bit was that it becomes clear that Tony can't relate to a human feeling pain, but completely looses it where an animal is concerned. Hence the horse fiasco. Anyway, during a drug intervention - where Christopher walks out of his room to find everyone he knows in his living room, all with the sole purpose of telling him just how his addiction is affecting their lives - the fact that he killed the dog becomes clear. Having held it together thus far, Tony goes mental. Never mind all the other dreadful things that Christopher has done while high... namely beating up Adrianna... he sat on a dog. The supposedly calm intervention breaks down in to a full on fist fight. Incredibly funny in a very dark sort of way. Or maybe I'm just warped.

You're right, willow2....the theme of animals and Tony recurs throughout. It started with the ducks and/or geese who nested near his pool.

It was amusing...and so was Paulie's explosion when Christopher turned on his (Chris's) mother.

Wih Paulie, it's mothers. You can do what you like with anyone, and be as violent as you want to. But diss a mother......no!

Wish I'd seen it, but these are great highlights, thank you girls!

Did you see it last night anyone? Couldn't believe that that psychopath (sp?) Janice could get any worse but she's just excelled herself!! What a total nightmare she is!!!

Fionn · 13/01/2003 13:45

A big cheer for E4 for repeating the last 3 episodes on Saturday so I was able to watch the one I missed. I agree willow2, I thought it was a very funny episode in a very black way! On a fashion note, I've recently been struck by the awful tops that Carmela wears, very middle-aged considering she is very attractive and has a good figure. They are very American!

Og God, it's not real, is it?

Just brilliant. Can't wait for next series. Thank God for Buffy substitute.

Nutjob · 17/01/2003 22:31

ks, I know exactly what you mean, dh and I were watching tele when they had a trailer for 'Red Caps' and dh said 'America makes the Sopranos and we make that!!' And as for Tony Soprano, I know it sounds sick, but I almost fancy him!!!!

Enid · 19/01/2003 20:16

I taped the last episode and watched it last night and I just have to say I don't think I've seen anything better on tv for a very, very long time. If it doesn't win some sort of award - particularly for the actress that plays Carmela - then there is no justice.

Roll on series 4!

willow2 · 20/01/2003 18:13

Nutjob - mmmm....yes, it's odd isn't it....

Fionn · 20/01/2003 22:57

Deliberately haven't read this thread as had a double disaster taping the last episode and I don't want to know what happens. Recorded it on Thursday as dp was out but there was a problem with the video recorder signal and it recorded without sound, then we bought a new video on Saturday to try again on Sunday but it took so long to tune in we missed it! So a friend who lives miles away taped it but won't see her for 2 weeks - don't want to risk the tape getting lost in the post. It's so tempting seeing this thread come up though!
