Anyone know the settling in period for harrogate army college

Hi all .. my 15 year old is going through the process of joining the army. Is currently in the period before they get him into his 2 day assessment. He's failed 2 pre assessment phone calls. 2nd time was not answering the question "what's the settling in period?" Anyone know this answer? Can't seem to find it online anywhere.

My son joined AFC Harrogate in September 2023 and we would both say the settling in period is the first 6 weeks before passing in. He did have a pre assessment call but don't recollect him not being able to go on to assessment centre if he didn't get any of the questions right.

Happy to help/answer any questions as I know what a lengthy and hard process it all was at the time. He did the long course so 48 weeks.

As an aside my son thrived at Harrogate and is now in his regiment still loving it

Hi..thankyou so much...just wanted to reply as we found out the correct answer from the actual recruitment place that he was having his pre assessment questions from. The answer is there is no settling in period for harrogate..you can leave whenever you want if you're an under 18. Apparently it was to understand the discharge as an adult. To serve 4 years but give 12 months notice. Luckily my son passed the phone call questions (3rd time lucky) and now has his 2 day assessment booked for Lichfield on April the 9th 2025. 😊
