Where can I get baby carseat blankets that wrap round after baby is strapped in?

I saw a beautiful french blanket one day that a mum was taking her newborn home in. The carseat straps fed through the holes so the baby was strapped in directly. The blanket then was folded over.

Anyone know a good website?

Thanks - saw that one but it isn't a folding blanket that you wrap round

did it have like a hood on it?

mears · 09/05/2008 18:30

I found this one with a hood but it was actually a more delicate blanket I saw. Haven't been able to find it at all.

i was going to say it might be that one.

could it have been a custom made one?

Knit your own?

pinkyminky · 09/05/2008 18:37

I was going to suggest modifying a swaddling blanket. I've made foormuffs before, the harness holes are quite easy to do.

this

or this

weirdy thing

pinkyminky · 09/05/2008 20:09

Wow. that last thing looks truly bizarre! I like the little feet in the second one. But d'you think they'd grow out of it?

I was just thinking, if it's for summer, I'm not sure. You would prolly be good with something made of terry that would keep lo cool and absorb sweat- they get so hot in the car seats in summer.

Thanks for the suggestion - no time for knitting I am afraid!

I wish I had written down the french name the mum told me. It was lovely soft cotton and it had a matching hat. Never mind. Am considering the second link you posted CoolYourJets.

Is it this one?

mears · 10/05/2008 00:41

Nope although it is nice.

The car seat straps went through holes in the back of the blanket so the baby is clipped directly in then the blanket is folded over.

this look nice, but not what you describe

CoolYourJets · 10/05/2008 12:28

I like the second ones I must admit. I thought it was quite good that the straps went over the wrap so you could lift the baby out still snuggly.
