as my old moses basket is ripped so had to bin it. i have a noisy, loud 3.7yrs old (she will be 3.11 yrs old by the time DC2 is born).

Do i bother with one or just put the baby straight to bed for naps?

What about a travel cot? I used one for my third in the lounge and it was great. He could lie in it and watch his siblings play and then nod off. He was close to me and safe from the kids running about.

That reminds me, I need to put it in the paper to sell it on as mine are bigger now.

its more of the case that my DD is loud and will prob wake the baby up or will the baby gets used to it?

Depends on the baby. With my son I could have done anything and he would have slept through it. With my DD she was a much lighter sleeper.

Get a travel cot, then you get more use out of it. The sort which have a removable bassinet, so that effectively you raise the base, are particularly useful.

Definitely let him/her sleep in the living room, and don't sush the big LO. For his first few months ds2 slept in the carrycot in the entrance hall, with ds1 and dd haring around, yelling, bouncing balls, driving RC cars, generally being themselves. He slept through the lot, but would wake the instant he heard my voice!

A travel cot would probably be safer option, less likely to be pulled over and also harder if dc1 got the urge to lift dc2 out of it. One possible drawback may be if dc1 tried to climb in to it.
