You know your child watches too much TV when.......

I spilled something on the worktop today this is what DS (age 4) came out with:

"Wait, Mummy! Are you tired of all that tiresome scrubbing? Then you need new Cillit Bang all in one. It's really good. It's pink, know".

It really cracked me up but made me realise that perhaps he's watching a little bit too much Nick Jr

What have your kids come out with/ done that makes you think they watch too much TV?

when I told DD1 (aged 9) that I couldn't afford whatever it was she wanted, she said "well just borrow some money from Ocean Finance then"!

we sat down and had a bit of a chat at that point....

when DS asked for latest toy for his birthday, "only £14.99, batteries not included"

If only life were really as easy as we thought it was as a kid.

When '0800 00 1066' is warbled in stereo by your LOs

The shame of it

PMSL.

I think that's probably why DH insists on pressing the mute button whenever the adverts come on!

I have a rather large old cupboard to keep food in and was struggling to find something. Ds helpfully pointed out that "You can get special lights for cupboards you know. I've seen them on the telly."

when a lot of her games seem to include Tom and Jerry..
fortunately she seems to know it's not ok to bash people over the head etc. I said once ' well Tom's not being very nice' and she said 'don't worry mummy it's just pretend, you don't really do that'!
she wants everything advertised for her birthday, most of it is rubbish stuff
when I said something was too expensive, it kind of backfired when I went to buy something and she said 'oooh no mummy that costs too much'!

My nephew age 4 in answer to his mummy saying oh look at your white top you have got lunch all down it, that will never come out. said its ok mummy you can use oxyclean

DS (4) can sing the entire Sheila's Wheels and Diamond Insurance songs word perfectly, spent about a week crashing into things and shouting 'whoomph, I've just been hit by my car insurance' (can you see a theme here?), and told me we could get a new car if we gave the old one as full deposit to Welcome Car Finance.

I don't know whether to be proud or .

Darned Sky. This never would have happened if we'd stuck to CBeebies .

LOL at these. I heard ds1 singing "64 Zoo Lane" whilst rearranging the fridge magnets earlier on this afternoon

Miaou · 05/05/2008 08:13

Me too MrsT - when I woke briefly at 4am this morning I had "big cook, little cook, welcome to our cafe" going round in my head

Walkthedinosaur · 05/05/2008 08:21

3 year old DS2 swears by the cleaning power of Cillit Bang.

Miaou · 05/05/2008 08:24

dd2 (aged 9) rewrote that ad.

"Bang! and the twerp is gone"

waffletrees · 05/05/2008 16:39
