DD'll be getting plenty of books and a doll she can undress (discovered dd not as tomboyish as I thought) for her 2nd birthday, but I would like to get her one more gift.

So what did you buy your dd or what does she really enjoy playing with?

Don't have a dd but for ds1's 2nd birthday we went down the art and craft route. We got a double sided easel and everything he could possibly need to paint, chalk, draw, make, stick etc etc, magnets for the white board side. We wrapped all the bits up then put in an old bath box and then wrapped that up as well as the easel. He loved it all and still does!!

If you've already got that then I echo the peppa peg playset or maybe a little buggy for the doll?

Fab name Notnowbernard - 'tis one of the books she's getting.

I think she'd love an easel or sand/water table. Will have to sneak something out of the conservatory to make room... perhaps dh's pool table

DD got a child sized red metal wheelbarrow - it has had a awful lot of use and she still uses it now age 6, tho not so much. Ideal for 'helping' in the garden, transporting toys, in the sand pit, etc etc.

One of those George Luck layered jigsaws, they are really lovely.
My DD loves her postman Pat friction van
Water/sand table, from ELC or somesuch
also second the figures thing, DD has pretty much adopted DS's farm tractor with animals for herself.
a bag or rucksack of some sort.
