we measured several times, already changed our order once as other item was too dark/tall...our lovely light sideboard comes today..which looked quite small in the shop...and it totally oevrtakes all the space in our hall...it fits, can get past/open door all with plenty of space but tis sooo big in such a small hall it looks like its just been plonked there...so how do i get it to look better/smaller without getting the chainsaw out and crying into my visa bill

it's just because it's new. I remember our sideboard looking HUGe, but you get used to it.

it is double size of last peice that was there, but last one was dark and tall so i thought this would look smaller being light wood..it was v.expensive(for me anyway) so i want to get used to it(cant do much else now its here!) am thinking a mirror above to elongate that area instead of making it look like a big flat wood top coming down stairs and a selct few White frame/vase etc??

A mirror is good, but what you need to give it most of all is TIME!! Leave it till the end of the week, you may find it grows on you.

mm..still not sure, it IS lovely but just too deep..i guess the furniture company would prob just laugh at my inability to measure properly and do nothing wouldnt they?
