I'm 43.....young at heart but 43 nevertheless.

My DH and I have stupidly agreed to go to a 4 day, UK music festival. The group of 15 people is a mix of close family (my sisters and partners) and our wider friendship group. Ages range from 18-43 (us). Most of the couples are late 20s, early 30's.

I'm really looking forward to the music and the actual event but for the first time in my entire life, it's dawned on me.....WTAF am I wearing for this thing 🤣

I don't want to look like I'm someone's mum, trying too hard to be down with the kids and then on the other hand.....don't want to look like we're one of the groups parents, who have tagged along.

I am definitely over thinking this! But style tips appreciated please!

You'll get some great ideas if you put this in Style and Beauty, OP.

Do you wear/suit floaty skirts and dresses?

Great tip thanks. I'm fairly new here.

Yup, up for wearing anything. Size 10-12. No 'real' hang ups, other than I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard.....she says.....asking strangers on the internet for advice 🤣

I’d wear what you normally wear/want to wear/are comfortable wearing, and not give a shit frankly… Seriously, you are defo overthinking - just go and have a great time, there will likely be all ages there anyway.

I know! Honestly. I am eye rolling at myself here.

I think it's probably the first time I've ever even considered my age for anything really and it's got me 🤣

I’m a similar age - bit older. If I was going, and I was actually thinking about it, I’d check the weather and start there. Then think about footwear for the terrain. Channel Sienna Miller maybe or Kate Moss who both seemed to make festival dressing look easy (probably going back to a posh Moho or snazzy hotel right enough, not a rain soaked tent!) Seriously, have a fab time.

@Purplecatshopaholic thank you. Giving my head a wobble as we speak!

Keep an eye on the weather forecast is my advice. Floaty dresses are not fun in the rain.
Festival outfit of denim cut offs, with optional leggings or knee high socks and wellies are a traditional favourite for a reason.

Sounds awful but I'm secretly praying for grey skies because I have plenty of hoodies, waterproof, welly combos 🤣

I'm mid fifties and not so keen on the classic festival wear. I usually go for a vintage band t-shirt and jeans / leggings.

I have been known to stick a flowery headband thingy in my hair and then regret it when I check the photos.

Oh this did make me smile, thank you.

I fear I've been taking myself too seriously here 🤣
