new ones IMO.

the old ones could have tiny scratches that will be harder to clean and sterilise.

My DS was born Aug last year. My older DD is nearly 4. She stopped using bottles at 2-3.5 years old. I have not bought any new bottles or teats for my DS. I've just used all the old ones. DS is fine.

I'm going to use the same bottles but get some new teats.

You can see if they are really scratched - mine aren't.

(Similar age gap here btw - dd is 3.8)

We got new bottles (4 year gap) as they seemed to have reached a stage of starting to split/break more easily. TBH since we already had steriliser, etc it wasn't too expensive.

i used the same bottles for my 2. did have to buy new teats tho as dd had chewed thru most of them and they were fast flow ones anyway

meemar · 15/04/2008 10:41

I would use same bottles but get new teats

I asked Avent about this for my 2nd baby, and they said that the scratches don't matter as long as they aren't deep, but that if you've regularly dishwashed the bottles for a year they could be weakened. As far as hygiene is concerened, they are safe. But get new teats.

biglips · 15/04/2008 10:52

ok thanks everyone. i will check them before i buy any teats. i used to handwashed them so i think all of them had hairline cracks in them, plus ive got a steriliser too.
