What is the most unusual conclusion someone has drawn about you on mumsnet?

I've been reading the pages of mumsnet for years now. I'm not sure why, but I've never bothered to post until recently.

Anyway, on another post I created, I was talking about universal credit and the DWP re:inheritance. I have been the executor, the beneficiaries are the ones whose UC is now being compromised.

It was decided by another MN user that I was writing about myself, given that on another thread I had said I'd been a cleaner (or more specifically running a cleaning service of my own, as a business) for over 20 years, and therefore I won't have earned much money and would have been on UC.

At no point have I said anything about how well the job pays, where I live, who I am married to, what job they do & salary they receive etc.

I'm not the least bit bothered about what was said, but it's made me chuckle as to how people draw conclusions like it.

What stand-out comment do you remember reading from one MN user to another, based on what one person had concluded in their mind?

Somebody accused me of being a troll once - because they didn't believe there was a footpath where I said it was.

I never did figure out their reasoning on that one!

Said I was being obtuse and implying I was being facetious in a post about age of being a Mum (the poster couldn't fathom that in some areas 36 is seen as being an older Mum)

This isn't an assumption but il never forget the "Good grief" comment I got when I mentioned getting pregnant 2 months after meeting dp (happy accident). 4 years and another baby and were still together

I once did an ama about my disabled DC and listed their conditions. One poster told me I'd made one of the conditions up and it didn't exist!

I good humouredly moaned about the dh forgetting to do some household chore, and pretty much got told I was being used and abused.

That I was bragging about my sons height by mentioning his height on a post about the height of children and that I was trying to make another mum feel bad by mentioning the height of my apparently extraordinary tall child 😂😂

When I was posting about the horrendous harassment from my next door neighbours one person thought this couldn't be happening.
I guess it kind of validated how bad it was really because it was all happening

I got accused of being a high maintenance bitch because I asked for advice on gently telling my DP I wasn’t a fan of the type of birthday trip he booked for me. I got told I was evil and that it was only a matter of time before he left me. Well, he’s recently booked a trip that is exactly what I wanted after cancelling the other one. He was incredibly excited to tell me about it and we’ve been discussing future plans to buy a bigger house so it doesn’t look like he’s leaving me anytime soon.

Someone thought I had a cock and balls because I have a different opinion regarding transsexuals. I wish I did, far easier to have a wee outside or into a bottle.

On a thread about men harassing women in public, I mentioned that when walking with my mum a man screamed at us barking and then laughed. Someone commented to say that this man was mentally ill and I was cruel and insensitive for thinking badly on him.

I was told I was selfish as I went to see Taylor Swift three times. The first time was with my my DD, DSD and DSD’s mum (who I get on really well with) which was a gift from DH for a Christmas present. The second time was with my niece as my sister was too ill to go and the third was with my DD who I’d got VIP tickets for as a birthday present. I got two really nasty PM’s after that post.

I made a post years ago as I’d gone for an expensive hair appt and a 2 year old was running about the salon whose mother was more interested in chatting to staff than controlling her child. I should have been more understanding apparently as “children can’t be expected to sit still” and I was unreasonable.

I was also called a troll as I get on with the DSC’s mum my DC’s step mum 😂.

That I was covering for my DS, when his ExW refused him contact with his DC.

His ExW was pulled up by the court for deliberately preventing arranged contact and alienating the DC’s. She was warned that she was at risk, of the court awarding RP to him.

And yet, still I was accused of taking his side and telling lies to cover for him.

MN at its worst where DiL’s must be right, MiL’s must be wrong. Females are always right and make good choices and males never do.

Someone told me I was lying when I mentioned my DH’s job (which he has done for 40 years) because ‘there was no such job’.

I think it was part of the COVID craziness that made so many people be utterly vile to other people who didn’t agree with them on some COVID related topic.

I once posted asking advice about a Thames boat trip that my in-laws wanted to go on when they came over from abroad.

One poster decided that I 'clearly really hate my in-laws and don't want them to visit'.

Not only was this categorically untrue, there was also not one word in my posts which even hinted at any dislike 🤷‍♀️

I asked a question about the M&S clothes ranges and was immediately accused of being a PR for M&S ( and she didn't answer my question). Problem was that no one else did, after that post, so I am still none the wiser!
