Local connection to an area : council house.

If you are nominated for a council house in a local area (less than 3 miles)
what are the rules?
during lock down I stayed elsewhere but before that I was living in the local area stated to be able to proceed.
I’ve currently been back in the local area since January

Dependant on council but in my experience it's either:

Loved in local area for 3 years
Have a job or job offer in local area
Have close relations in local area (parents or kids)

@TuesdayWhistler they are saying it needs to be in last 5 years but I lived here 3 years ago for 20 years ? So is that still valid?

It wouldn't be in the areas I've dealt with, it has to be continuous.

But the best people to ask are your council that you're dealing with. Just ask them to clarify.

You could ask shelter perhaps?
