I don't want to go with the AA or RAC as too pricy.

Would you recommend any other breakdown companies?

Thanks

We have been with Green Flag for over 10 years now, have called them out countless times and they have always been professional, curtious, efficient and reliable.

Their attendance time is always great as they use local companies rather than their own fleet (as per AA or RAC), who they monitor closely. Each time you use them, you get a customer satisfaction survey to ensure good service.

I always check their renewal prices each year to make sure they are still competetive and the fact I am still using them 10+ years on, says it all for me.

Hope this helps.

Great - thanks everyone!

I have a 6 year old car. Will also need european breakdown cover as off to France for 10 days. Is it better to get seperate cover or all inc?

Can you haggle with the RAC? I pay the same as MuppetMuggle for RAC cover (inc European assistance).

They make you a priority and come really quickly if you tell them you have a baby or small child in the car (although obviously that might not apply to you). Have used them a fair few times in the past year or so.

I use GEM motoring assist. I've only had to call them on one occasion but they arrived within ten minutes of me phoning. The problem wasn't something that could be fixed at the roadside so they towed the car home. I had to pay for this at the time but I had the money back from GEM (Guild of experienced motorists) within the week so I was quite satisfied with the service considering it wasn't expensive. My parents have had much worse service from the AA.
