Last birthday present for my daughter

My mum has a progressive condition and is moving towards the end stages. This year it looks like it could be her last.

She has mentioned she wants to get my daughter a birthday present organised in advance.

Any ideas of what she could get my daughter that my daughter could keep in memory or her?

My daughter will be 2 years old this year.

I’m so sorry about your mum.

Would you like it to be something your DD could have use of now?

Or more of a keepsake that might be more useful later?

A special copy of your mums favourite childhood book?
(not necessarily one to read at age 2 but for when she is older plus maybe a nice set of Peter Rabbit books or similar for with a matching soft toy to go with it that she can have now)
Sorry about your mum 💐

I'd like a keepsake, I was thinking jewellery but not sure what my daughter's tastes will be when she's older.

So sorry for your troubles OP.

Jewelery is a classic heirloom - I think rings in particular are the most timeless. Maybe a plain band with the birthstones of you, your mum, and your daughter?

A video recording of her telling your daughter how much she loves her

Jewellery box playing your mums favourite song?

I’ve got an oval silver locket with my birthstone inlaid which my godparents gave me as a christening gift. It’s been perfect as I’ve been able to wear it for special occasions as a child and then with an updated chain now almost every day as an adult.

A yoto player/ tonie with make your own cards/ tonies that your mum could record herself reading stories on.

Could you make a handprint picture of all your hands in a frame? Along the idea of the ones you do at baby group with the feet if that makes sense.

So sorry about your mum.

Special books, as suggested above, or a simple pendant necklace - if you change the chain, she can wear it from childhood to adulthood.

A locket with a picture of your dm in it.
