I bought my ds a hanging wall bookcase from ebay. I had planned to paint it but its that shiny wood(MDF?)so I can't do that. Any ideas how I can cover it? I'm not very crafty and all I can think of is covering it with his fave cartoon characters from comics.Very tacky.

I think you can get MDF primer, so once you've put that on you should be able to paint it.

Really? Oh that's great, I'll take a trip to B&Q. Thanks

You can paint on shiny surfaces if you 'key' them first by roughing up the surface with some sandpaper. I've done it with a chest of drawers for dd's room.

Oh right, I'll give that a try first, it should save me a few pennies, thanks Pixel
