Does anyone know any celebrities that might be available to open our school fair in June?

We don't have much money in our PTA as we are a charity and have only been up and running since Decemvber 2007 but we thought it would be great to have a celeb to open it. We are in Leeds area.

I have got a poster up in the green room at Emmerdale in case anyone can come from there as my brother has contacts but its only if they are not filming and anyone is available.

Any suggestions?

Hi - why don't you do some research, find out who your local celebs are and then send them a lovely letter asking them to help. In my experience local celebs are flattered to be asked and like to be seen to be involved in helping their local community.

It doesn't have to be someone outragously famous like Tom Cruise, any claim to fame would do really.

When we had our silver jubilee fete Liz Hurley "didn't do local appearances" so we had Alistair McGowen instead. He was fabulous.

My sister lives in Leeds, she would probably do it for free. She's quite charasmatic.

We usually ask local TV presenters/weather girls etc. They are usually quite happy to do it for very little (eg expenses) and often get loads of badges/stickers etc for the kids too.
