has anyone used these? is it true you have to have the first photo they take - you're not allowed to pick which one you want for free?

They are the sister company of Portrait Place formally Parasol Portraits.
I was a photographer for them for 9 years but left a few years ago so things may have changed.
The free portrait was the customers choice but had to be chosen at the time of the sitting (difficult for the customer, so be advised by the photographer.)
Many of the studios have gone digital now so you should be able to see them more quickly.
I would advise you go to a permanent studio rather than a mobile one that visits Boots/woolworths etc.
The sitting will be more relaxed and you have more choices of poses and character shots.
Try and avoid the really busy times-usually the weekends and late nights.Ask the studio when is their slowest time and book for then.
