Desperately seeking men's FLAT CAP for fancy dress. Anyone got one they would sell me?!

Hi

I need to dress as a farmer this Friday for a party and need a flat cap or similar suitable head attire to be a farmer.

Does anyone have an old flat cap they no longer want that they'd be willing to sell to me and post first class asap so I get it in time. Can pay by paypal or cheque or however!

Please let me know if you can help!

Thanks everyone

have you looked in your local charity shops? they normally have things like that.

(popped into thread because I misread it as you needing a men's CAT FLAP and I wondered what one of them was )

If you can't find any in your local charity shops, I could have a look in ours tomorrow and post to you tomorrow afternoon - should arrive by Thursday at the latest.

We live in a big farming area, so loooooooads of stuff like that in our charity shops.

aznerak · 17/03/2008 13:18

I there WhenIrishSqonksAreSmiling

Have tried all my local charity shops to no avail

You are a total star offering to have a look in your charity shops - I live in SW London so not a great demand for these round here!

Please let me know if you have any luck

my email is [email protected] - if you mail me, I will reply with my address should you find one!

Thanks again xxx

I read the title as desperately seeking CAT FLAP for fancy dress .

WhenIrishSquonksAreSmiling · 17/03/2008 13:22

I'll be off into town tomorrow, so if I see one, I'll buy it, then email you.

Hope I can help.

VanillaPumpkin · 17/03/2008 13:22

PMSL I wasn't the only one I see Squonk......

WhenIrishSquonksAreSmiling · 17/03/2008 13:22

VP - see my earlier post... so did I.

It clearly says FLAT CAP. Wonder why our eyes read it wrong

VanillaPumpkin · 17/03/2008 13:29

I know . It is even in capitals!

WhenIrishSquonksAreSmiling · 17/03/2008 13:31

d'ya think it's all the time spent deciphering cod-type has ruined our ability to read things when they are typed correctly?

CatIsSleepy · 17/03/2008 13:33

gawd i read it as cat flap too
that was confusing

WhenIrishSquonksAreSmiling · 17/03/2008 13:35

TigerFeet · 17/03/2008 13:35

VanillaPumpkin · 17/03/2008 13:36

If not, no probs and thanks so much for trying!

They sell them in Edinburgh Woollen Mill (or whatever it's called now) if you have one near you.

PuppyDogTails · 18/03/2008 06:50

Here

aznerak · 18/03/2008 08:07

hi puppydogtails

we do have one near us

is there one on their website as I couldn't find one? Whereabouts on the website are they?

Thank you!

PuppyDogTails · 18/03/2008 08:10

Sorry, no, I just sent the website link so you could see if there was a store near you. I don't think they have a shop online. We bought one for a fancy dress costume for DP from there a few years ago (no longer have it I'm afraid!).

hippipotami · 18/03/2008 08:12

Okay, I just read this as 'Desperately seeing men's CAT FLAP for fancy dress' and was going to ask a) are cat flaps gender specific and b) what is he dressing up as.....

Don't have a flat cap (nor cat flap for that matter) so will go again....

WhenSquonkyEyesAreSmiling · 18/03/2008 10:15

Aznerak - semi successful.

The charity shops didn't have any.

But there is a kind of country outfitters on the cheap shop, and they had exactly what you are looking for.

They were £8.99.

Didn't know if you wanted to spend that much (when you factor in postage it's going to be about a tenner) so I didn't buy one.

Am going back to the shop later on this morning (or I could go tomorrow) so I could get you one then.

If I post it first class (post office literally across the road from the shop, so I could have the envelope all ready and just pop it in) it should be with you tomorrow, or if I post it tomorrow, Thursday.

Let me know what you want me to do.

xx

hotcrossMonkeybun · 18/03/2008 10:19

see now you're all very slow. She posted this on another thread and I was first to misread. Are we all fucking senile?

damewashalot · 18/03/2008 10:24

My ds needed one for dressing up at school and we got one for £2-50 in the sale at Asda about a week ago. Sorry can't offer it he loves it

damewashalot · 18/03/2008 10:28

Just read that and wanted to point out that what I meant was that you could try Asda, I wasn't showing off because I have one aand you don't

Oh and I read cat flap too

lizandlulu · 18/03/2008 10:42
