Can anyone recommend somewhere my daughters can have riding lessons during school holidays? We moved to the area recently and I'm being nagged to find somewhere. I know not all stables are great and so would appreciate a recomendation.

Hello,
don't know of any stables personally, or at least only in a free manure context. But just wanted to say I live near you!

I do know someone who has horses but don't think she does lessons on a professional lessons. My two went and had a little ride on her horses though and she was very sweet with them.

Hi cece. Thanks for the message. I only discovered mumsnet this weekend and this is the first message I've posted so it's good to know someone is out there!

The British Horse Society does riding school approvals. At least if you pick one of these you know it will be insured, safe & reasonably well-run.
Look on www.bhs.org.uk for the lists of approved schools by county.
Of course word-of-mouth is also good.

Just looked on the website and found a place which looks great and is only 4 miles from home! Have booked an assessment lesson for DD2 this Wednesday.

Thank you!
