My mum would have been 49 today. Happy Birthday Mum!

Hopefully she can access MN from wherever she may have been for the last 6 years

I just felt that I wanted to say something about her. She was s force to be reckoned with my mum - she was gutsy, hard working and well respected but at the same time she was loving and nurturing and fun. She was artistically talented and had the most beautiful singing voice. She jumped from a plane and abseiled Blackpool tower to raise money for charity. She was a selfless person who always put her family first and I now understand, as a mother myself, all the things I couldn't fathom when I was younger.

Miss you Mum.

So anyone who wants to please raise a cup of tea and a ginger nut to Tricia - my wonderful Mum.

Love to all those on MN who have lost a loved one.

x

Raising my tea to you Tricia, you're still loved very much and missed enormously.

Happy birthday to your mum - I'm sure she would be very proud of you. What a lovely description of her.

It would ahve been my mum's birthday this Friday, she died very suddenly 4 months ago. Like you, I understand so much more about her now I'm a mum myself. And I miss her terribly.

Cup of tea and ginger nut raised!

Will raise my tea to her too. Sounds like she was a very wonderful person.

Happy Birthday Tricia x

schneebly - My thoughts are with you, I can't imagine losing my mum.

Love to you too, Schneebly. What a wonderful picture you made there of your mum, she would feel her life had been utterly worthwhile knowing that you honour her and her kind loving heart and her achievements the way you put so beautifully into words there.

My mum died six years ago. Will always miss her. Hard, isn't it.

schneebly · 17/03/2008 08:03

Lomond - Thank you

Oenophile - Thanks you for your love I thought my words were rather clumsy as it all came tumbling out She did a lot in her short life - pretty much all for other people. I am sure she is being rewarded now!

I am sorry you have lost your mum - even after 6 years it is still hard. I guess it will never go away but if we can smile at the good memories then we are doing okay.

Happy birthday Tricia.

Love and thoughts to you, schneebly. She sounds like an amazing woman with a daughter who's following in her footsteps.

Thanks WLD but I am a lot less gutsy than she was! I certainly haven't abseiled or jumped from a plane. I do hope that I show my children the love that she showed my brothers and I though.

Was doing really well this morning but starting to get a bit now. Think I need to get out with the DS's and do something!
