I'm just going to archery class!! It cost £90 for 10 lessons so wasn't hugely expensive, but I guess the equipment can add up. Fun though. Also like playing the guitar - you can get a cheap guitar and teach yourself book for around £100.

I was completly useless at archery in school, bad eyes or bad aim. I once nearly blinded a clown with a dart as a child on a pop the ballon school carnival game. I wasn't really allowed near sharp things after that.

my hobbies are mostly in the arts and crafts area, knitting, beading, painting, baking and cooking. I write a little and sometimes enjoy gardening, growing tomatoes at least. As for outdoor activities I love going for walks, especially if there is a picnic involved in nice weather. my blog

There are cheaper guitars in Argos - dd learns at school and hers was £20 and it sounds fine.

Best thing to get inspiration, biglips, is to have a trawl around some of the blogs etc. If you have a look at my blog there are some links on there in the sidebar. I often go to a blog, then follow a random link to another blog, and so on. Or go on Flickr, put something in the search bit (like "drawing") and see what you come up with

Architecture. Especially domestic architecture.

It's free - you walk around and look at buildings and then you research on the internet/at the library to find out more about it.

chelsygirl · 15/03/2008 10:15

looking after the kids (all I've got time for!)

mummyhill · 15/03/2008 10:18

Archery, Karate, reading, knitting, sewing, scrap booking.

Anna8888, am really keen on arts & crafts style. Did a course on Wllm Morris - his private life had me thinking mine was very bland!

Anna8888 · 15/03/2008 10:26

Lots of architects had/have very colourful lives . I love the combination of creativity, foresightedness and practicality that domestic architects need to have.

lucykate · 15/03/2008 10:30

sewing

in fact, anyone else on this thread into creative stuff, come and join the arts & crafts section, we have a weekly thread going where we just chat about what we're all creating.

tis healthy to have a hobby

2sugarsagain · 15/03/2008 10:32

Mmmm, not sure he was all that clever on the relationship front. What architects have you found out about?

Anna8888 · 15/03/2008 10:34

Do you want to start another thread? Otherwise this will be a massive hijack?

biglips · 15/03/2008 12:06

yes i will to pull out my crafts stuff. it is in the cupboard in the back room which is jammed in with lots of my SIL's furniture so will wait for my Dp to come home and shift the furniture abit so i can reach them.

Also i do actually fancy having a go of playing the guitar. Does that involved night classes as i dont mind that as i need to have "me" time again which it had been a long time that i had that (too bloody long!!)
