oh gawd ggirl, have you tried the copshop?

just on the offchance?

LyraSilvertongue · 10/03/2008 22:41

Oh, poor you. i have nightmares about losing my bag. i once left it in McDonalds and didn't realise till 3 hours later. Luckily a member of staff found it an put it aside.

LyraSilvertongue · 10/03/2008 22:42

Could it still be in the changing room in a locker or something?

brimfull · 10/03/2008 22:44

leisure centre have looked for it to no avail

can I phone police, never thought of that.

why wouldn't someone just hand it in to the reception though

where do I find the number of the local police station

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 10/03/2008 22:49

Google it.
It might be worth checking the area around the leisure centre. Someone might have nicked the cash then dumped the bag.

dolally · 10/03/2008 22:55

In any case report it- if you think there might be any chance of you having to claim on insurance they'll require a police report. Hope you find it though!

I once reversed out of the drive with my bag on the car roof. It fell off and stayed on the ground in front of the garage while I took the kids to school...and finally realised I didn't have it on the way home. I knew where it was instantly and nearly had a heart attack trying to get home quick before someone happened along and helped themselves.

brimfull · 10/03/2008 22:56

Have just called the police, our local station is only open 9-5,so they said to call back in the morning.

Makes me quite sick,The changing room was being used by young kids and their parents during swimming lessons-you'd have thought someone would have handed it in!

dolally · 10/03/2008 23:01

ask the leisure centre to look again, and properly this time.

(...dolally is so naive she can't quite believe some evil parent has walked off with it.)

windygalestoday · 10/03/2008 23:02

its awful isnt it ? ....no my handbag never turned up it was a v expensive leather designer one (id bought it in the charity shop for £1 tho) they never caught anyone either but a week later the police came round to 'helpfully' advise me that there had been several thefts in the area and as dh works nights to be sure to lock my doors as soon s he left!!needless to say hysteri ensued.

I even begged the council workers to check the bins and stuff they found empty purses and stuff but none were mine ....my eldest ds bless him walked around all the local area with his friends and dh checking wheely bins

brimfull · 10/03/2008 23:42

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 11/03/2008 11:17

dolally · 12/03/2008 20:35

ggirl.

honestly!

nannyL · 12/03/2008 21:38

i was lucky

i dropped my purse in a car park in the middle of town...

i didnt realise at all until i got a call from a kind person who had found my purse, and found the 'if found please call me on XXX number' and called me...

i had less than £1 cash in it at a time, but did have lots of credit / bank cards and driving license so was very pleased to have it back ... and not ahve the hassel of cancelin all card etc

there are nice people in the world

(Oh and if i ever found a purse or bag etc i would always hand it in, cause i really hope that others would do the same for me!)

so pleased you have found your bag
