for current affairs I do believe the Guardian website is hard to beat. Good for books and arts as well.

Am drawing a blank on cross stitch - it is a universe unknown to me as I am cack handed at any craft pursuits

WigWamBam · 18/12/2004 22:17

Stitchability might interest you, olittleyurt.

fairydust · 18/12/2004 22:19

mumsonline is another brillant parenting website

WigWamBam · 18/12/2004 22:20

I like the artwork on this site .

I also like The Modern Antiquarian .

spacedonkey · 18/12/2004 22:24

I often play around with the Visual Thesaurus - beautiful and useful

xmashampermunker · 18/12/2004 22:29

Don't you mean clop-hooved, SD, rather than cack handed?

I like the onion Makes me laugh. The family secret story on the front page at the mo is amusing.

spacedonkey · 18/12/2004 22:29

I also enjoy browsing around Wikipedia , the free encyclopedia

spacedonkey · 18/12/2004 22:33

may I also recommend H2G2 - the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy - chock full of amusing and interesting articles written by the likes of you and me

(sorry hunkermunker, i was forgetting myself there!)

spacedonkey · 18/12/2004 22:38

I find this Michael Flatley fan site entertaining and amusing.

xmashampermunker · 18/12/2004 22:39

I was shocked SD. But I got over it Hey - where are you that Heathrow's an hour way on Piccadilly line? Not that I'm a stalker or anything

How about play It's got lots of things cheaper than amazon and they've just started doing books. Free delivery too - yum!

spacedonkey · 18/12/2004 22:39

I'm in Islington hampermunk you nosey thing!

xmashampermunker · 18/12/2004 22:40

This one makes me laugh - a lot.

Peter Pan

xmashampermunker · 18/12/2004 22:41

[nosey emoticon]

Not THAT far from me then (though bit of a haul on public transport)

spacedonkey · 18/12/2004 22:46

Actually, my claim to be an hour away from heathrow on the piccadilly line is a lie - I'm on the Victoria Line really. Where are you then hamper?

xmashampermunker · 18/12/2004 22:59

Ruislip Manor (or should that be Ruislip Munker...hmm...!)

spacedonkey · 18/12/2004 23:01

Not a million miles away then, we'll have to have a meetup in the new year!

(Well, you don't have to, obviously )

xmashampermunker · 18/12/2004 23:02

Would like that a lot! Will write a poem about it
