I was going to hold a dinner party with my friends and talk about how fab women are and what women have had to face historically, but the housework got in the way

Ooh.... probably housework as normal on a Saturday. But I might have too much to drink and beat up my DH in the evening....just to prove how equal women are these days

Sleeping pretty much the whole day as I am doing a night shift Friday and Saturday night.

I'd forgotten, mmm, not sure.

But on the subject doesn't it do you head in that the school/pta fundraisers for womens day are always farking beauty related.

FFS

Some kind of cynical irony? Or the worst kind of missing the farking point?

wasn't aware that it was Women's day, but hopefully boys will be seeing their dad on Saturday & I will see my boyfriend.

Right been thinking.

Might take my dd out in the morning, she's 3.5 - would take my son too but he is only 18m and actually it would be wicked to spend some one-on-one time with my girl

I might get to chatting about women in my life that I look up to, maybe even a couple of heroines through history.

I might, if I get time, try and find some stuff that highlights how great women are. Maybe some books by female authors, or we could head to local museum/gallery...

Or actually I might just tell her all about Helen Sharmen

She is very into rockets atm.

oh
I'm having friends over for "proper afternoon tea" with little cakes and sandwiches.
I thought it would be fun!

But I am making lots of cake and sandwiches so maybe this is symbolic...

Well,it all sounds jolly fun, good for you Slur, sounds like you and your dd are in for a fun day!!!

Yes, how annoying to focus women's day on beauty issues, well, there's nothing else going on in our little lives is there?? FFS.

I'm actually happy that some of you knew that it was women's day, I was going to make a big song and dance about it at work (I'm a nurse and there's some strong female employee's in the trust) but it was a bit late to organise such an event, maybe next year...
