How on earth did we get electricity and telephones without parental supervision?

Is it just me or are we hot housing our children to do just what Mummy/Daddy says and failing dismally.

Mine do not take a blind bit of notice of me and I have been currently talking to other parents and they are in total agreement.

Today my children had stories read and they baked and we fed the ducks. They loved it.

Yesterday we went to a big country park. It was all free even the rabbits and they thoroughly enjoyed it. More than the visit to the funfair which lasted about an hour.

When I think of the great inventors, I am not sure what their parents were like but I am guessing that they were not like we are today.

Just musing.

Musing, and confusing me. I think you might be raising an interesting point but you have lost me.

Do you think this generation of parents supervises too much or not enough?

Do you think inventors had more freedom to experiment than children do now?

Do you think we are trying to raise a generation of 'yes men' and not letting children think for themselves?

Sorry - not sure what your point is?

i think she is saying we supervise too much and in the past children had more freedom to think, invent, experiment.
