'I was in panto with Ted Moult' has got to be one the most surreal lines I've ever read on MN

Spill, silver.

silverfrog · 29/02/2008 19:12

along with other wannabes really famous people...

Desiderata · 29/02/2008 19:13

Oooh, apparently Barry Scott is in my 'extended network.' I'm sure that's not good ....

silverfrog · 29/02/2008 19:14

x-post.

was in the mid-eighties, in backwater of a town... I was one of a hundred ballet brats lovely little girls prancing about a lot.

DumbledoresGirl · 29/02/2008 19:15

Ted Moult shot himself in 1986?

So, how about we all bombard that number on monday with calls, asking to speak to the ice cream man, the play doh specialist, the creator of nailpolish remover etc, and just clog their lines completely. ???

AM I sad or what.

Desiderata · 29/02/2008 19:23

QuintessentialShadow · 29/02/2008 19:25

I had them phone last week and the women was realy rude to me.

All i did was went she said who she was calling from i said i wasn't interested (house only 6yrs old why would i need new windows). She demanded that i listen to her. So i put the phone on the coffee table while DD2 (6mths and teething) was screaming while i went to make her her lunch.

I started to feed dd2 and i forgot about the phone, i could suddenly a quite voice going hello! hello! are you their? I pick up the phone and said sorry i forgot i put the phone down to get on with my life and put the phone down.

Now call me stupid but wouldn't you think if all you can hear is a baby screaming and no adult voice on the phone that i wasn't listening to her.

PrincessPeaHead · 29/02/2008 20:25

If you ever get a call from a double glazing company tell them you live in a grade I listed house

they never call again.

quint · 29/02/2008 20:27

I like what the radio presenter in America did to a cold caller - pretended to be a homicide detective and that the person they were calling had been murdered, wanted to know what the callers relationship with the deceased was - very funny. I will try and do a link

Desiderata · 29/02/2008 22:25

PPH, that is so true. It also works conversely, if you tell them you live in a council house, for obvious reason.

Wherever you live, employ either of those methods, and they'll put the phone down!
