Thinking of starting a new business, what do you think?

I am looking for a way to get out of my current job, and being very creative and crafty I was looking at bronzing. (metal plating items, not spray-tan!)

I wondered whether there would be a market for it, i.e bronzing babies first shoes/pets collar/wedding cake decoration etc. etc.

There is a bit of competition on the web, but quite a few of the sites I found didn't actually copper-plate the items, they just painted them with bronze-coloured paint.

The thing that is making me wary is the cost of the finished items. What would you be willing to pay for a bronzed keep-sake.

I would be aiming to provide a local service rather than a web-based one.

Thanks
Rachel

Well, how much are your competitors charging for their bronze painting services?
There is no one that does copper-plating at the moment?

You could offer this service in your spare time first to gauge interest
and find out more about prospective customers - including how much they are prepared to fork out.

Maybe place an ad in your local paper / gumtree
and check the level of interest at various price points.
