i think most of us agree the following things look vile on babies and toddlers but what age is it (or is it ever) acceptable to put your ds in:

a) a suit
b) a waistcoat
c) a tie

Possibly when they choose it themselves.

When DS was a baby and I used to take him to babygroup there was a little boy there in jeans and a shirt and tie every time. I thought it was a bit odd - the boy was 3ish till I got to know the Mum and she said that she would love him NOT to wear the shirt and tie but he insisted as he liked to look like his Dad. Wore more casual clothes at the weekends when his Dad did too!

I put my ds2 in an argyl tank top when he was 3. Only once because it's very hot over here.

I've only ever seen dh in a tie once, and that was the morning I helped him get dressed to go off and marry his first wife.

My ds wore a tie to his Auntie's wedding, but he pulled it off half way through and threw it at my mil!! It got caught on her hat and she never noticed!
