Is there a Billy Goats Gruff nursery rhyme?

On the basis that I have a young child and should know these things, I was recently asked if there was a nursery rhyme for the BGG. I thought not and said it was just a story.

They all want to cross the bridge. The troll doesn't let baby. The troll doesn't let mummy. The troll tries not to let daddy but daddy butts him off the bridge. They all cross and eat the sweeter grass.

Now I think I'm wrong.

Isn't there a song?

"I'm a Troll, foll-dee-roll, and I'll eat you for my supper!"

There is a song 'I'm a troll, fol-de-rol"

We have it on an anothology CD of songs from the old radio prog, "Children's Favourites£.

My mum used to sing it when I was small.

And I'll eat you for my supper,
With a hunk of bread and butter

My mum used to sing it to us as it reminded her of her dad putting on silly voices and singing it to her

it!

I remember it from Children's favourites - live! Precursor to Junior vChoice with Ed Stewpot.

The link isn't working.

should get you there. You'll have to cut and paste.
