Has anyone had breast surgery for purely cosmetic reasons?

I am considering it.

Would like to know if anyone has. Where did you have it done? How was it? Were you pleased with the results? What was the recovery like?

TIA

mosschops, i'm seriously considering it too but really need someone to give me some advice!!

VivalaDiva · 16/04/2008 20:20

Yes I did. Kind of cosmetic but I was totally flat chested so I guess it was for psychological reasons as well. I have no sensation in some areas of my breasts but I do not regret getting it done at all. Been almost 10 years.

mine are so saggy after bf 2 dds, its something ive been wanting for a while, purely cosmetic but for nobody but myself, i just don't know how to go about chosing a consultant. i could do with reccomendations really.

J2O · 16/04/2008 20:27

oh well i was thinking a lift, but they are like spaniels ears! i am, i think, a 34 dd, but they are just like bags of skin, so i wonder if implants may be a better option.

J2O · 16/04/2008 20:29

also, i am a single mum of an 8 yr old and 6 month old, so need to know recovery times..etc

I went to a place in Birmingham - I was in Devon at the time and they sent down a driver for me and took me home again! Wouldn't particularly recommend my surgeon (don't know his name anymore anyway!) as the stitches were a bit gunky and I still have loss of sensation.

VivalaDiva · 16/04/2008 20:31

Recovery time from what i remember was a few days - but that was just feeling sore not being bed ridden. I remember not being able to do anything that required using my pecks e.g. cutting veg or pushing things.

J2O · 16/04/2008 20:33

Wow, i like the sound of my own driver!

well i'm in Hull, so i know there's Hull nuffield hospital that do it but i am reluctant to fork out for a consultation until i know i want to go with them iyswim

VivalaDiva · 16/04/2008 20:34

I did the whole thing in a day so I saw the consultant the day of the op - not before. If I did it again I would see the consultant first to make sure I was happy.

J2O · 16/04/2008 20:37

oh i'll definately do that viva, i have ordered a brochure from one of them, does anyone know the cost nowadays?

VivalaDiva · 16/04/2008 20:39

Mine was just over £3000 but as i said that was 10 years ago.

dejags · 16/04/2008 20:41

Yes. A breast reduction G cup to a C cup when I was 16.

Had it done privately.

Best thing I have ever done - well that was until I couldn't breastfeed

sophierosie · 16/04/2008 20:43

I'd love to have a tit lift - I'm a 34E so would that mean a more complex op? I feel like I have lost loads of breast tissue since losing weight after dd.

J2O · 16/04/2008 20:47

sophie you're only slightly bigger than me, i need to go and see a consultant, i'm trying to research on the net, but there only seems to be one in Hull.

hmm £3-4000 is about what i thought, maybe i'm being niave(sp)!

J2O · 01/07/2008 21:17

bump! i went for a consultatation today. has anyone else got any experience of the boob lift/implant please!!

KillerStilettos · 05/07/2008 12:09

I am interested in this too J20. What are your thoughts after the consultation?

VivalaDiva - how bad is the loss of sensation? Is it around the nipple area or all over?
