I am wishing to pick your collective brains for any good readings that may be suitable for our wedding... DP & I are tying the knot with a civil ceremony in June- we already have 2 DCs so it is very much going to be informal and not overly traditional. I have started to think about readings as would like to have 2, but finding it hard to source nice (obviously non-religious) ones... All ideas would be VERY welcome!!

Thank you xxx

Because it is classed as a religious reading; you are only allowed ones with no religious associations at a civil wedding.

That's a shame, and a bit silly.

we had The Prophet and the Apache wedding blessing.

My mum then nicked the Propher for hers. I was reading it for her. By then, 10 years later, we were told you weren't allowed to word 'God' so I agreed to omit the sentence ''Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God''
Then on the day I simply reinserted it, figuring the registrar probnably wouldn't be able/be inclined to do anything about it. We got away with it
