We have finally got confirmation that we can rent a place back in Norwich and I am soooo excited!
We have to pay 6 months up front and provide my parents details as guarantors, but they said we can move in next Tuesday!
Hooray!

I am so over excited that I don't know where to start. Obviously I am going to start writing lists.
I need to find some contents insurance (cheap) by next week - anyone got any recommendations?
I need some hints of moving house with small children
I need lots of positive vibes
and
I need people to remind me of things that may have been overlooked by my poor over worked brain.

Obviously, post forwarding, utility people notifying, etc...Anything else?

Contents insurance ... will depend on postcode who proves the most cost-effective .. going through yellow pages is a good bet ..

Moving house with small children .. keep them out of the way .. get someone to mind them? or you take them out and let someone else pack

stuff to remember

Stop phone / gas / electricity /water if in your name at current address in writing .. make sure you have utilities at new place

Box stuff you are likely to need quickly in a separate box and keep it near .. stuff like kettle / mugs / sheets / towels

Label boxes with which room they should be unpacked in

will keep thinking

Make sure you know where all your bedding is (especially kids + their most "important" toys). Ensure the first thing you do is get your beds set up so that you can crash in comfort at the end of the day.
Ensure your mobile phone is charged !

as well as bed linen at the ready also make sure you can find your curtains and do the kids rooms first before anything else so they can go straight to bed!

Excellent. Thanks for the links twiglett!
My biggest pain in the butt is that we have a waterbed and it will need to be drained, disassembled and then re-assembled and re-filled before we can go to sleep!
Oh and a three piece that takes three strong men to carry it!
Sooooo excited

Should be retitled...OMG Moving in 12hrs time!

Arghhh, the stress of it all!
We have chucked out around half our house in rubbish, yet we still have more clutter than we have cardboard boxes.
To make matters worse we looked at the house today and realised that the only way we can get our three piece suite in is through a set of french doors at the back. Unfortunately we couldn't open them. They appear to be painted shut. We asked the letting agents and they said that these doors haven't been opened in 30 years. Arghhh.
So we still don't know if we can move our furniture in!

Hey! I'm in Norwich too.....! Congrats on the move. One thing you need to do asap is change your car registration to the new address. (We forgot about ours until we had to renew our tax!), also change all your banks etc asap! Make sure you take plenty of nibbles and things for the kids to do.....! Have you got any decorating to do, or are you not allowed to?? As for contents insurance, we're going with co-op, and I think it was about £10-£15 a month... not sure exactly how much at the moment.
Good luck with your move!
