As some of you may know our flat has been on the market for 4 months with only 5 viewings and no offers. We both hate living here and since DD has come along it has got even worse we have no space and have nightmare neighbours.

Anyway 2 weeks ago one of my friends phones me out the blue to say her and her DP are planning to start a family in 2006 and are putting their flat on the market and moving into a family home. So tonight I log onto MSN and up comes "We've sold the flat" "and our offers been accepted on the hosue we want" and "I can't wait" now am I pleased for them but during the week when I see this friend on MSN I send a "Hello how are you doing" message and get nothing back even though she's online ok she may be too busy to talk but she could at least say "sorry to busy to talk catch you later"

I feel like she's totally rubbing my nose in the fact her flats sold and ours hasn't. She knows I am at home all day with the baby and don't have any friends or family around here and am struggling with it right now. I don't know whether to send her an e-mail or not?

yeah - send her an email and be friendly - don't let on that your are miffed. Maybe you are just over-reacting because you are frustrated and stuggling with being a new mum.

Any ideas why your flat isn't getting viewings ? Is it worth lowering the price a bit, or tarting it up?

thanks

I think she is one of those friends who only phone you when they have some good news to tell you ie they want to gloat! It would be nice to get a "Hi how are you, how's the baby once in a while".

I'm frustrated about the flat not selling not about being a new mum which I absolutely love - what my friend doesn't know is that we are selling up and moving back home to Scotland. We are asking the going rate for the flat but for the money you can get a 2 bed house with a garden in this area, we have a riverside view that bumps the price up a bit. I think we will reduce the asking price in January see how it goes.
