Please help - I have 2 12 year old boy cousins and not a clue what boys that age would like for Xmas for under a tenner. Please offer any suggestions.

dvd/cd???

Woolworths has quite a good selection of toys/gifts etc for children of all ages at good prices too. Maybe they would have something appropriate - do they have a web site you could browse.

Sorry no ideas myself as no children that age in the family

Really hard age. What about a CD holder or something like that? Would a cheap version of a Swiss Army Knife be too risky?

Vouchers to go to the cinema?Did that last year for some kids of this age and they loved it!

HMV or Virgin voucher - or a very new cd/dvd so at least they are not likely to already have it?

DS1 (12) asks if they are into sport because he would buy as much sporty bits as poss

Agree it is a hard age to buy for if you don't really know them or what they are interested in.

Of course you can't go wrong with a tenner in an envelope...I know presents are nicer but they do like money! (Or vouchers for WHS/Woolies/Boots/sports shop...)

Agree that money or voucher presents will go down very well. I always give money to my 10 year old ds's friends for birthdays.

If you feel you must buy a gift, these are the sort of things my getting-near-11 year old ds would like more of, even if he has them already:

hi tech torch/mini maglite
football
joke book
sports drinking bottle
